A SEAT FROM SEATS: ERGONOMIC CHAIR

According to Cornell University Ergonomics Web, “half of body weight is supported by an 8% area under the ‘seat bones.’” I studied the interaction between bodies and seats to come up with a form that distributes the user’s weight over a larger surface area than standard chairs to reduce pressure on the seat bones. Also, the user naturally sits with good posture because of the angle and depth of the seat.
